Since the fourth grade, Dave has wanted to have a career in television. Even though he was initially afraid of storms, he found a deep passion for them and decided at an early age to pursue a career related to chasing that which he was initially afraid of. While in high school, Dave became the school’s first weatherman, preparing him for a future in meteorology.

In January 2021, Nussbaum joined the CBS 42 Storm Team as the morning and noon meteorologist. With his passion for weather, David hoped that viewers would trust his coverage of the weather forecast just like they did in New Orleans, which they did amazingly.

After his studies, Nussbaum interned at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He then worked as a morning and noon meteorologist at WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge after moving to South Louisiana, a position he held for 10 years. David also worked as a morning meteorologist at WWL-TV for almost 7 years. Dave has weathered some of the worst hurricanes in South Louisiana that have earned him great recognition, including the Katrina and Gustav hurricanes and the enormous hurricane season of 2020.
